Alex “Z” has been racing bicycles on a pro level for 23 years. He began his professional career racing BMX bicycles. Next he gave road cycling a try and received an invitation to be on the US National Team. While on the team he specialized in track cycling. He later branched out on the road and was offered a position on the professional Colombian cycling team Postobon.
After retuning to the states he decided to give mountain biking a try and raced professionally with Mountain Cycle and the world cup team of ProDynamics. Throughout his career he has won numerous prestigious races and holds numerous national titles. After opening the Z’s Bike Shop he became interested in triathlons. He participated in several local triathlons and received an honorable mention invitation to participate in the US National Triathlon Championships in 2010. His love and enthusiasm for the sport is demonstrated on a daily basis. “There is nothing better than waking up everyday and riding your bike and then be able to carry that feeling throughout the day.”
Lisa Zambrana / Owner
Lisa Z began road cycling in 1998 and had the desire to race right away. To accomplish her goals she new she need a good coach. A friend recommend “Z” and four years later they were married. Not only did she gain a husband she won a silver metal in the Florida State Criterium Championships in 2001. She has trained with former Olympian Connie Carpenter and former Tour de France stage winner Davis Phinney and attended a bike camp with Connie and Davis in Italy along with husband Alex. She later competed in duathlons and won first place overall in 2009 Chilly Whilly Duathlon. Her love of fitness and nutrition continues today and she runs the Metabolic Typing program at the shop.
